“Just had a 4-night stay here as I visited both Black Mountain and Montreat, did some excellent hiking, and discovered several of the newish pubs and restaurants in Black Mountain. All-in-all it was a wonderful visit, coming 30 years after my last visits and about 65 years since my family spent every summer in Montreat. Believe me, back then we could have used this hotel and the updated Black Mountain for short visits and a fun alternative to Montreat's quiet but beautiful vibe. If the location of the hotel were not right next to I-40, that would be the only improvement I can think of. I know, it's hard to find and move to somewhere else in the area.”
“Very nice hotel. Great staff, clean rooms, easy parking. We stayed 4 nights while visiting our grandson at Montreat college. Beautiful area with lots to see & do. Sadly, there is still alot of reconstruction going on from hurricane Helene. Also many good restaurants.”
“This is our favorite Hampton Inn and we waited impatiently while this location was being built. And, boy, it was worth the wait! We've never been here that the rooms were immaculate and the staff just wonderful. It is a short walk to downtown Black Mountain with many great restaurants. We've been here many times and not once did we have a significant problem. My only suggestion is that we did notice a decrease in water pressure and temperature of the shower. However, we realize that Western North Carolina is under a severe drought and we assumed that probably had something to do with it. We always try to stay in a room with a mountain view and the noise from I-40 has never bothered us at all. See you guys in the fall!”
“We had such a fantastic experience here. The staff were always friendly, attentive and helpful. We had 5 small children with us and ate take out in the community lobby and the front desk guy (white glasses) immediately offered us plates and brought us a pitcher of water. How kind! He was so sweet to us. Especially traveling with small children, parents can be frazzled and overly concerned about what people think. It was so nice to be treated kindly and like we weren’t a nuisance. Rooms very very clean, beds spotless, bathrooms full of all the toiletries yo my could imagine. And most importantly The hotel coffee situation! lol: seriously when I travel I’ve never had a good cup of coffee at a hotel, even at “high end” hotels. Hampton black mnt had 3 different coffee options in the lobby. We were thrilled to have a real dark roast. The inclusive breakfast was perfect. My kids loved the warm pool! Seems like they thought Of everything. They should be very proud of themselves!”
“We had a wonderful stay at the Hampton Inn in Black Mountain, NC. The gentleman at the front desk with the white glasses was so pleasant and thoughtful at check-in. We arrived in the evening, and coming in from the cold to such a warm, friendly reception set the tone for our whole visit. The hotel was very clean in every area we saw: the lobby, hallways, elevator, and especially our room. Everything felt fresh and well cared for. Breakfast the next morning was excellent. We slept in and came down around 9:25AM, and all of the breakfast items were still fully stocked and ready for us to enjoy. At many hotels, if you arrive 30–40 minutes before breakfast ends, options can be limited, but that was definitely not the case here. If you are visiting Montreat or Montreat College, this is the best place to stay. During our visit, we even met other families who have or had students at Montreat, and they shared very positive insights about campus life and the faculty. Overall, this hotel made our visit comfortable, convenient, and welcoming, and we would happily stay here again.”
“Great location and very nice staff. Hotel is clean. I would recommend staying here for sure. Ways to improve - the ceiling walls are probably the most hollow that I have ever experienced in visiting hotels. If you do not want to hear nonstop stomping at all hours of the night - pick the 4th floor. Noise cancelling headphones didn’t even remedy the sound. Pillows are flat compared to other hotels. Water pressure in shower could be improved along with increase in water temperature. Lukewarm at certain points of the day.”
